We’re accelerating the transition to zero-emission vehicles, and as we mark World EV Day, it’s fantastic to see more cleaner, greener models come to market – with prices falling all the time.
We’re being bold in our plans to get even more electric vehicles on the road. From grants to help those purchasing their own low-emission vehicle, to installing over 25,000 publicly available charging devices and over 170,000 domestic and workplace charge points across the UK – we are building back greener.
With one in seven cars sold this year having a plug, as a nation we are changing gear and racing towards a greener future.
We are going further and faster to decarbonise transport by phasing out the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2030. All new cars and vans must be zero emissions at the tailpipe by 2035.
As we drive towards COP26 – UN Climate Change Conference, we’re working to deliver our Ten Point Plan for a greener economy, which will slash emissions and create high-skilled jobs across the UK.
