The COVID-19 pandemic did not allow us to host our flagship event, the Delphi Economic Forum, in its actual birthplace, Delphi. Although heartbroken about the fact, the ongoing health crisis meant there was no real dilemma: we had to put the safety of the region and the community first.
This does not mean we have forgotten about this magical place. Delphi, with its history, tradition and warmth of its people, lends meaning to the Forum itself. So we decided to host a smaller-scale, targeted special event in Delphi, in the beginning of July.
And special it will be: our tribute event will see the launch of our official partnership with the Munich Security Conference, the world’s most prestigious and largest conference on foreign and international security policy. We’re incredibly excited about this new prospect and all the important ways we will be cooperating with the MSC in the future. This July, we are set to enjoy a session on “Westlessnes”, a novel term coined in the latest edition of the annual MSC, seeking to explain the West’s decline relative to other international actors and the challenges Western countries face when navigating between “competition” and “cooperation” with their illiberal challengers.
This special event will also see us cooperating again with our trusted partners the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) and the European Public Law Organization (EPLO). Guests will enjoy exclusive discussions between key top officials and stakeholders on the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility, and the opportunities this presents for the Greek economy. There is also a special segment dedicated to the EU’s migration challenge and the Debate on the Future of Europe, a new initiative by the European Institutions which aims at nurturing debate between European about the future of the European project.
The Delphi Economic Forum Special Event will take place between the 1st and 2nd of July, in the European and Cultural Centre of Delphi.
